A well-timed IV can be the difference between a vacation you remember fondly and one you spend half of in bed. If you know you’ll want one (or several) during your Cabo trip, here’s how seasoned travelers slot IV into a five-, seven-, or ten-day itinerary.

The arrival-day IV (Day 1)

Long flights, dry cabin air, time-zone shift, layover at altitude — most travelers arrive into SJD mildly dehydrated and fatigued. A 30–45 minute hydration IV at the hotel within 4–8 hours of landing is the lowest-effort, highest-value timing. It sets up day 2 to feel normal rather than crawling out of jet lag.

Drip: Hydration IV ($149) or B-Complex Energy ($119).

See our post-flight IV guide for the longer reasoning.

The pre-event IV (the day or morning of a wedding, photo shoot, big dinner)

Beauty Glow and Myers Cocktail are designed for this. Booked 6–24 hours before the event, the drip leaves you photographed-and-dressed energized rather than puffy and tired.

Drip: Beauty Glow ($189) or Myers Cocktail ($159).

See our existing wedding wellness guide.

The morning-after IV

The classic Cabo IV. Best scheduled before noon if you partied the night before — the longer you wait, the longer the symptoms compound. Mobile to your hotel is the right format if you can’t face leaving the room.

Drip: Hangover IV ($169), often with Zofran and Toradol when needed.

Our morning-after IV page is built for this exact slot.

The mid-trip recovery IV

Day 3–5 of a longer trip is when accumulated heat, sun, alcohol, late nights, and altitude finally compound. A Myers or Immune Boost IV here resets you for the back half of the trip without losing a full day.

Drip: Myers ($159) or Immune Boost ($159).

The pre-activity IV (boat day, hike, golf)

For demanding activities (full-day sportfishing, sunrise hike, a 5-hour boat tour), an IV the night before or morning of can pre-load hydration and energy. Hydration plus B-Complex is the right tier — you don’t need a full medical drip if you’re well.

Drip: Hydration ($149).

The sick-day IV (unplanned)

The most important kind. Food poisoning, stomach flu, severe heat exhaustion, migraine — these are the visits where an IV is medical care, not wellness. Same-day dispatch across Cabo, the corridor, and San José del Cabo.

See our IV for sick tourist, food poisoning IV, and stomach flu IV guides.

The pre-flight-home IV (last day or morning of departure)

If you’ve spent a week on the beach and you’re staring down a 5-hour flight back to a cold city, a quick hydration IV the morning of departure is the kindest thing you can do for the trip home. Mobile to your hotel an hour before checkout makes this seamless.

Drip: Hydration IV ($149) or B-Complex Energy ($119).

Group / wedding party planning

If your group has a wedding, a big birthday, or a multi-day bachelorette, build IV into the schedule like a spa appointment:

  • Day 1 (arrival): Hydration IV for the group, mid-afternoon.
  • Wedding eve: optional Myers Cocktail for the bride and bridesmaids in matching robes.
  • Wedding morning: Beauty Glow IV.
  • Day-after-the-wedding: Hangover IVs for the surviving members of the party.

See bachelorette IV and wedding party group IV.

Practical scheduling tips

  • Book mobile dispatch ahead for popular times (weekend mornings, post-wedding day). Same-day usually works but ahead is calmer.
  • Don’t IV right before extended sun exposure. Hydrate, then go to the beach.
  • Don’t IV right before flying if the flight is in under an hour — you’ll need a bathroom break.
  • Spread IVs across the week rather than stacking. Daily IVs are rarely necessary.
